The XOCIVIGA will make the fair recognition of the work of the Cinema “Carballiño” cinema, which has been continuously developing since 1969, the year of its creation, above all as responsible for the creation of the XOCIVIGA itself and as organizer of most of the 31 editions celebrated in these 30 years of existence.

The day dedicated to this tribute will be attended by audiovisual professionals from Galicia and Portugal and in which one of the most outstanding films screened in that first edition, in 1984, will be shown by Lauro Antonio’s film “Manhá Submersa”, which had caused a surprising sensation. and the discovery of unfamiliar Portuguese cinema.

Lauro Antonio, a Lusitanian film classic, will be present to make the film presentation and to dissertate on his perception of XOCIVIGA’s experience and its influence on Galicia-Portugal relations and co-productions in the audiovisual field.

SPECIAL SESSIONS WITH OUTDOOR PROJECTIONS IN THE RURAL OF THE FIRST THREE FILM FILMS OF THE GALICIAN CINEMA COMMEMORATING THE 25 YEARS OF ITS premiere.

In 1989, the first three Galician films were released in the Fraga de Vigo cinema: “Always Xonxa” by Chano Piñeiro, “Urxa” by Alfredo G. Pinal and Carlos Piñeiro and “Continental” by Xavier Villaverde.

For such events and, in addition, with the intention of promoting the extension of the activities of the XOCIVIGA and the approximation of the film culture to the rural environment, a series of outdoor screenings are organized in different parishes that will start in the second half of this July with which it is going to take place in the parish of Santa Uxia de Lobás.
