For fifteen days, from 28 July to 13 August , O Carballiño will offer an extensive program of cultural, sports and leisure activities to energize the LV Fiesta del Pulpo. The program was presented this morning by the mayor, Francisco Fumega, and the councillors of Culture and Tourism, Diego Fernández and José Manuel Dacal, respectively.

LANA UNIÓN GROUP WILL CLOSE ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 11, A FIFTEEN DAY CYCLE WITH LARGE CONCERTS OF ALL TYPES OF MUSIC
A TRIBUTE WILL BE PAID TO THE FAMILY OF JULIO GÓMEZ, OF THE WOA IBENSE HERITAGE
The events begin tomorrow with a night walk to the petroglyphs of Cangues and will end with the concert of the pop group Lana Unión, on Friday, August 12. In between there will be concerts like those of Sofa Music on Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5; Los Coribantes with the group of tambourines Maianas and Manuele de Felisa, on Monday 7; Budiño and Mercedes Peón, Mercores 9, and the International Folk Festival, on Thursday 10. # At the same time, the biggest Octopus Tapa in the world, which will be on Tuesday 8, and other sports and street entertainment activities They will develop in the neighborhoods.
On Sunday 30, the Xociviga 2017 will also begin, with a week of projections in the auditorium, exhibitions and publications of cinematographic interest.
In this edition, Fiesta del Pulpo will pay tribute to Lana Región Internacional for the 50th anniversary, and Julio Gómez and his lady Lurdes Masid, xeadeiros de Lana Ibense.
Francisco Fumega highlighted the diversity and quality of the events that will take place during this summer time in which O Carballiño doubles the population and significantly increases the number of tourists.
Diego Fernández also referred to the openness of the program, designed for all audiences and with the aim of attracting many visitors, he said.
José Manuel Dacal focused on the big week, which will begin with the popular music band Los Coribantes and end with the great concert in the Plaza Mayor of the Lana Unión group, as well as Saturday’s day dedicated to the t-shirts, the live broadcast of the TVG program Here Galicia, and the day of the Octopus Festival, on Sunday, August 13, with the pilgrimage in the municipal park. The Gijón Bagpipes Band will be the guest group on this occasion. And the end of the party will be borne by Pili Pampón.
The city council published 5,000 leaflets with the program that will begin to be distributed tomorrow throughout the province and throughout Galicia.
Finally, they thanked the sponsors, institutions, entities and companies, as well as the rest of the municipal councils for their collaboration, without which it would not be possible to launch such an ambitious program.
