O Carballiño marida the Octopus and mushrooms in the I Mycological Days of the town of Arenteiro

The association Agarimos do Arenteiro, in collaboration with the municipal area of ​​Culture and the photographic association O Potiños, will celebrate on November 29 and 30 and on December 1, the First Mycological Days of Carballiño, in the activities carried out, all related activities with the world of mushrooms, with the peculiarity of the dishes that are made with these concerns always accompanied by the octopus, star product of the Carballiñesa village.

The conference will begin on Friday, November 29, with a conference at the House of Culture given by Antonio Saco, of the Os Cogordos association. This talk talks about fungi and their relationship with the environment in which it grows, as well as the first basic knowledge of the most representative edible products in the Carballiñesa region. This conference will be at 7:00 pm, with free admission, and the draw of four baskets and 4 mushroom guides among the attendees.

On Saturday, November 30, the conference continues, with an Andalusian from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, where attendees accompanied by guides and expert mycologists, for the collection of specimens in the area of ​​O Carballiño. That same day, from 4:00 p.m., the classification of the mushrooms obtained in Andalusia was made, and the subsequent tasting of mushrooms, in the same main square.

Finally, on Sunday, December 1, from 10:00 am, a tent will be enabled in the main square of O Carballiño, for the exhibition of mushrooms collected on the previous day, and another tent where you can taste all the dishes made with mushrooms and octopus, including octopus and mushroom pie, octopus rice and mushrooms, etc. From 13:00 hours the prizes of the photographic contest organized by O Potiños for these days will be delivered.

The inscription in these days will be priced at 10 euros and it includes a raincoat, the special knife to collect mushrooms, the ticket for tasting the dishes that will be cooked during the days, and discounts for the acquisition of mycological guides edited for the occasion, as well as for the craft basketry stand that will be installed in O Carballiño that weekend.
